Get out your red, white, and blue, Squantumites…it’s almost here!

July 4 Squantum dance teamWell Squantumites, the biggest day of our year is just around the corner! Kick it off by joining the road race tomorrow morning!

The 105th marching of the parade is 
Friday, July 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

Squantum Road Race on Sunday
Strap on those running shoes Squantumites, and head out for this 2.5 mile race Sunday, June 29. Registration fee supports the parade. Trophies and
t-shirts all part of the festivities.

  • 9:30 am: Registration
  • 10am: Race begins at the Squantum Community Center, 50 Huckins Ave.
  • Registration fee: $20 for adults, kids under age 10 are free.

July 2 House decoration contest
We know every Squantumite scopes out the red, white, and blue all year looking for the perfect decorations for the big day. Get your festive Squantum Fourth house decorations up by July 2! Judging of houses along the parade route will take place on July 2.
And how about those fabulous flags along the route? Thanks to Jim and all the neighbors who made that happen!

July 4…Parade Day!
8 a.m. sharp
All parade day volunteers (anyone is welcome!) please meet behind the Squantum School near the playground.

9 a.m. Flag Raising Ceremony
The Nickerson Post Honor Guard will do the honors at the Gilbert Memorial Park (the cannon).

10 a.m. The parade steps off!
Join us behind the school following the parade for the announcement of the parade contest winners and enjoy slush for the kids!
