Quincy Helping Hand Program

Representative Bruce Ayers wants to remind Squantum residents about the availability of free home health aid equipment for Quincy residents.

Helping Hand exists purely to benefit anyone who is temporarily or permanently disabled. If you know someone in need of a wheelchair, crutches, walker, cane, special bathroom equipment, or other ambulatory healthcare aids, contact Helping Hand. If the item is in stock, they will supply it, at no charge.

Helping Hand is free thanks to the generosity of people throughout Quincy and the South Shore who have donated equipment they no longer need.

Visit the City of Quincy website to learn more about the program and to find contact information.

Old Ironsides Sails Again

Our neighbor on Orchard Beach sent in these great photos of Old Ironsides sailing today. Monica writes “I was sitting on my deck sipping my morning tea when I spotted Old Ironsides under sail in Boston Harbor! Such a treat. She looked like Mother Ginger with all the little boats flocking around her on her voyage.”

The USS Constitution under sail for the first time in fifteen years, honoring Constitution’s bicentennial of the victory over the HMS Guerriere during the War of 1812.

Thanks for the great pics Monica!
